Only You Will Be Gone
40
How easy it is to get carried away
To let bitterness into your heart, to ruin your day
To feel endlessly sorry for yourself
To put your life on hold, and up on a shelf
That's when the Devil puts thoughts into your mind
To do yourself harm, of the very worst kind
You feel no matter what you do, it's always wrong.
You get so upset you feel you just can't go on.
Maybe you'll swallow that bottle of pills
And end all you sorrows, with the sleep that kills.
Maybe you'll follow a more gruesome twist
And watch your blood flow, as you slit your own wrists.
All of that drama, what does it resolve?
The whole world around you, does not revolve
You won't change a thing by what you have done
A few people will mourn you, but the world will go on
ONLY YOU WILL BE GONE!
No one will deny the pain that you feel
Everyone knows what you're feeling is real
And even if you feel that your whole world will crash
You shouldn’t do anything hasty or rash
Pick yourself up out of that self-pity trap
Lift up your head and pull up your boot straps
And thank our sweet Lord for each brand new day
Another chance to live, to love, to play, and to pray

It's true. What does one gain hurting oneself because someone else hurt them? It doesn' t make any sense. Life is hard. Count on it. We just have to be stronger. Excellent perspective.
Absolutley marvelous!
Hey Disturbia , nice poem, I suspect most who are succesful at suicide simply want out, not attention. But nice read.
